Guidelines for writing the degree dissertation

    The degree dissertation is a technical document written by the student according to the guidelines of intellectual property (originality) and environment (synthesis).

    1. The dissertation must not exceed 30 (thirty) pages, in which the candidate reports on the main features of the assigned case study.

    2. The dissertation must be written on one page of A4 - front side only. The text must be justified. The margins of the paper are: top 2.5, bottom 2.5, right 2.0, left 2.0 and binding 1.0.

    3. It is recommended to use Times New Roman 12 pt for the text and a line spacing of 1.5

    4. The chapter heading always written in Times New Roman 18 pt bold (CAP. 1).

    5. Each paragraph should be numbered sequentially with Times New Roman 14 pt bold (1.1 Paragraph the first number represents the chapter, the second the paragraph in sequence 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.).

    6. The sub-paragraph, if any, should be in Times New Roman 13 pt italics and indexed with three numbers: 1.2.1 Sub-paragraph, with the first number indicating the chapter, the second the paragraph in sequence and the third the sub-paragraph in sequence.

    7. All figures are indexed with a caption, which is placed at the bottom of the figure itself in Times New Roman 11 pt, as in the example: Figure 1.1 - Example of a figure caption, where the first number indicates the chapter in which the figure is shown, and the second number indicates the number of the figure in the sequence.

    8. All formulae in the paper must be edited using Microsoft Equation. Only equations that are explicitly referred to in the text need to be numbered. The formula must include the reference number in parentheses to the right of the formula itself. Within the text, each reference to the same formula must include the number to which the formula refers in parentheses. The formula must also be in Times New Roman 12 font.

    9. All reported tables are indexed with a caption placed at the head of the table itself in Times New Roman 11 pt, as in the example: Table 1.1 - Example of a table caption, where the first number indicates the chapter in which the table is reported, and the second number indicates the number of the table in the sequence.

    10. The bibliographical references should be given either where they are quoted in the text of the paper, with the surname of the first author and the year of publication in square brackets [de Gennaro, 2012], or in full at the end of the paper, arranged alphabetically according to the surname of the author, with the surname of all the authors and their initials, the year of publication, the title of the article, the title of the journal, the volume, the issue and the number of pages: de Gennaro B., Gallo M, Lanzotti A. (2012) Metodo di preparazione dell'elaborato di Laurea, Journal of Thesis Preparation, 3(2): 215-225. (Times New Roman 11 pt)

    11. The sitography must be cited in the same way.

    12. The pages of the essay should be numbered consecutively at the bottom right-hand corner.
